Principles of Acting (Ages 9 – 14)
Students tap into their own imaginations through activities that develop
performance skills, and then use those skills to rehearse and perform
short skits. Diction, projection, and intonation skills will be covered along
with movement and gesturing techniques. The class culminates with a
showcase on the final day of class. Fees: Member $90, Resident $100,
Non-Resident $110.

Spring Performance Workshop (Ages 10 – 18)
The Spring Acting Workshop is a chance for young performers to practice
and develop their acting skills and showcase them in a production on
Friday, May 25 (Families are invited). Participants should be in Grades 4 –
9. The class will focus on performing a scripted play while developing the
skills of movement, projection, inflection, and characterization.
Participation in the performance is required. Fees: Member $90, Resident
$100, Non-Resident $110.

Just My Size (Ages 4 - 6)
After a successful launch last year, this special camp returns and is
designed to give budding young performers a chance to develop and
display their talents. Through theater games and music and movement
classes, campers will learn the basics of musical theater. The instruction is
provided by experienced teachers, aided by volunteers from the
Broadview Heights Spotlights community theater. A performance for
parents on Friday evening will showcase what the campers have learned.
The camp is held at the Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, Home of
the Spotlights (next to the Broadview Heights Police Department).
Note: Participation in the Mini-Musical Camp is not a guarantee of casting
in a future show, nor is it a requirement. Fees: Member $70, Resident
$80, Non-Resident $90.

Theater Camp (for those who completed Grades 1 - 6)
Theater Camp is a one-week recreational camp that serves as an
introduction to the various aspects of theater for children who have
completed Grades 1 through 6. Campers participated in fun, age-
appropriate activities in the areas of acting, music, and dance/movement.
No experience is necessary. Swim-time is included. The instruction is
provided by experienced teachers, aided by volunteers from the
Broadview Heights Spotlights community theater. High School students
may participate as interns (there is no fee for interns, but a registration
must be completed). The camp will culminate with a production of "Disney’s
Jungle Book KIDS", which will showcase the skills that the children develop
throughout the week. Participation in the production is required. Each
participant will receive two complimentary tickets to the closing show.
Camper packets containing scripts and music will be available for pick up
the week prior to camp.
Two scholarships (based on need) will be offered by the Broadview
Heights Spotlights Community Theater. Applications for "economic-based
scholarships" may be obtained at the Human Services Department. After-
care can be arranged through the Recreation Department. For more
