Theater Camp is an opportunity for grade-school children to participate in all aspects of theater. Sponsored by the Broadview Heights Recreation Department, the camp is coordinated by the Broadview Heights Spotlights. It is taught by experienced teachers with the aid of volunteers, and culminates with a production on Friday evening, “The Aristocats-Kids”. This classic Disney show is about Madame’s jealous butler Edgar who cat-naps Duchess and her Aristokittens and abandons them in the Parisian countryside. What’s a cat to do? Luckily, Thomas O’Malley and his rag-tag bunch of Alley Cats come to their rescue! This feline adventure is sure to have you tapping your feet to its hep, jazzy beat, which includes the Disney favorites “The Aristocats,” “Scales and Arpeggios” and “Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat.”
Children must at least be entering the first grade in 2008. High school students may participate as interns at no charge, but an application must be completed.
